This past weekend, FortyThree was privileged enough to host a pre-party for the 6th Annual Fashion Show presented by FashionArt Santa Cruz. The front lobby was transformed into a makeup room where a handful of the models prepared for the runway. Check out some of the photos from the weekend's festivities. The 6th Annual FashionArt Show was a great success and had an amazing turnout. The Civic Auditorium was filled with eager guests who were all interested in how Local Artists were able to adapt Fashion with Art. You can check out what FashionArt Santa Cruz is all about here: http://fashionartsantacruz.com/
Here is some extra coverage on FashionArt from The Sentinel: FashionART Santa Cruz presents both outrageous art alongside fashionable clothing, and one artist is playing both sides of the street. PrivacyStar, maker of the smartphone application that enables users to take control of their mobile phone, sponsored the #45 PrivacyStar car this year in the Pirelli World Challenge and Patrick Long, the driver of the Porsche 911 GT3, sealed the 2011 GT Driver’s Championship in the Pirelli World Challenge at Laguna Seca on Sunday, September 18th claiming the title in his first full season in the Series and delivering TruSpeed Motorsports its first championship. FortyThree's own, Katie Camacho, was in attedence at this event and was able to witness a client victory in the fast lane. Despite missing the round at Miller Motorsports Park earlier in the year due to a schedule conflict, Long wrapped up his title at the penultimate round of the season at a track which he’s mastered over the years. Long, who was forced to carry an extra 200lbs. of “success” ballast stemming from his four prior wins and consistent top-five results, qualified 6th on Saturday and drove a consistent and conservative race to finished 5th on Sunday. Long’s closest competitor in the championship, James Sofronas, spun out with only two minutes left in the race, leaving Patrick a clear path to the title on the last lap. You can find more stories on this victory at Racer, and The Sports Campus. The Austin City Limits Music Festival occurred this past weekend and was a great success. The partnership between Poynt and the Missing Children’s Society of Canada got an unexpected first run last week when Kienan, a three-year-old B.C. child, went missing from his home. MCSC made the decision to send out it’s first alert through Poynt after Kienan’s disappearance. The alert was pushed to over 7,000 Poynt users in Alberta and B.C. and included details about Kienan and his suspected abductor. Kienan was anonymously returned home the Sunday following his disappearance. More coverage on this riveting story at The Globe and Mail, and Market Watch |
