Slacker Radio has another new station! Slacker is partnering with FILTER Magazine to launch the FILTER Culture Collide radio station. FILTER Culture Collide features bands from the upcoming music festival, which allows listeners to enjoy their favorite international artists while discovering new ones. Slacker Radio will be at the FILTER Magazine Culture Collide Festival (Oct. 6-9 in Los Angeles) interviewing bands and updating the station live.

Skifta is a free Andriod app that allows you to shift your media. They now offer a new TED channel. This new channel allows users to instantly access TED's collection riveting talks from remarkable people on their Android phone or tablet and shift them to a SmartHome device such as a TV, Playstation 3 or Blu Ray Player. TED Talks join the app's growing roster of channels that also include Revision 3, Napster, Facebook Photos and Picasa. Skifta is also the first 3rd party app to become DLNA certified, making it a reliable option when wanting to stream or shift media within the connected home. This week Smith Micro announced the pre-sale availability for their 3D animation software Poser 9 and Poser Pro. Brian Haberlin, award-winning comic book artist including Spawn, X-Men, Darevil, Spiderman says "Poser automates what were once pain-staking design functions so that I can focus on the creative side of bringing my characters to life.” Some great new features are: SubSurface Scattering, Rendering Performance Improvements, Weight Map Rigging Support, Vertex Weight Map Editing Tool Suite and Real-time OpenGL Scene Preview. Help choose the cover of the box! Smith Micro and RuntimeDNA invite Poser fans to cast a vote in the "Iron Render Master Championship" for one of four images that have been created by master Poser artists. The winning image will be featured as the Poser Pro 2012 box cover. Voting is open August 9-28, closing at midnight PST on the 24th. The Slacker team arrived in Chicago this week for Lollapalooza and will be spending three days in their media tent meeting with artists from the event to grab cuts and segments for the Lollaplaooza 2011 station.
