Today marks the official launch of WordTag, a social-based word-guessing game for iOS and Facebook users. WordTag tests users' wits and creativity with a fun and challenging game. Players are prompted to provide an opponent with clues for guessing a word using 120 characters or less. Users take turns describing and guessing words, gaining tokens and earning badges with correct answers. For a limited time, WordTag is featuring a Silicon Valley Bloggers badge which incorporates some familiar Silicon Valley media names into the game. Players are able to select and play the badge to test their knowledge of tech journalists in the Silicon Valley. The TV discovery app Peel used its real-time social platform to provide a second-screen interactive experience this spring for American Idol, and now it’s turning its lens in a different direction: Politics. Over the course of the VP debates last night, users “cheered” and “boo'd” for candidates as an interactive way to react to the candidates. “You’ll be able to see what’s resonating with the community and see their sentiment played back in real-time and in aggregate, so you’ll essentially be able to see who’s leading the debate,” said Peel’s vice president of marketing Scott Ellis.
