Super Bowl XLVIII is just yards away. As we engage in the yearly rush of stocking up on chips, dip, wings and perhaps even body paint, we prepare for crowded couches and a cantankerous audience. A well-stocked food supply is essential for keeping the peace between feisty fans, but there are also some helpful apps out there to make sure no one misses a beat during one of Aunt Milly’s many bathroom breaks or Uncle Pete’s sneeze attacks. First off there’s the NFL’s official Super Bowl XLVIII app which fills you in on all the need to know info about the game, the teams and even includes video recap highlights for every week of the season. Photos and videos will be added instantaneously and you’re the first to see! There’s a good chance that many of your friends and family are watching the game primarily for the ads – even if they won’t admit it. There’s an app from Appburst that allows you to watch all the commercials from the big game. You can download it now and see the ads before they air. If cat-loving Aunt Milly was out of the room during a commercial featuring kittens, share it with her through the app! It’s not always easy to get together with your buddies to watch the game. Thankfully, FanKave is there to make you all feel a whole lot closer together. This app provides a second screen experience so that you and your pals can share your comments on the game in real time with instant play-by-play updates and live scoring. Additionally, studies show these apps work infinitely better when wearing this.

Currently, she oversees our clients LiveHive, PrivacyStar and Savor. In this interview, she shares her proudest moment here at 43 as well as valuable lessons learned along the way. What is favorite memory so far at 43? So far, I'd have to say any and all of our 43 holiday dinners because they never fail to bring us all together under the most unlikely circumstances. Truth be told, we've all become friends, so our work holiday parties are in some ways more fun than all the other kind of parties. I consider myself blessed to be around people I can work so hard with, and play too. What is your proudest moment so far at 43? I'd have to say picking up the New York Times paper on a Friday morning to see one of my client's CEO's front and center in the business section in Adam Bryant's Corner Office column. To know that was my work that hundreds of thousands of people get to read and be inspired by, well, it's the coolest feeling in the world. It sure as heck makes the "What did you do at work today?" question a pretty fun one to answer. What is the most rewarding about PR? That's easy. It's knowing that if you can manage five start-up clients at once and keep them happy, then you can do anything. The amount of patience, work ethic, communication skills and tenacity it takes to balance that and your personal life is astonishing. If you can do it, you will understand that feeling of everything else being a walk in the park. Bills? No problem, Roof leak? No problem. I mean really, everything else seems manageable. I'd also have to say setting a goal, for instance to get a client in the New York Times print, and making it happen. It's not about the compliments or recognition from peers, it's about you and what you're capable of bringing to the table. It's about your own personal sense of pride. What is one of the most valuable lessons you've learned from your experience in PR? The first thing that comes to mind is realizing the value of my relationships with the media. For so long I didn't think of it as a partnership, I just wanted coverage, coverage, coverage and I would pitch until I got it. Now I realize it truly is a partnership and we help the media just as much as they help us. Secondly, and maybe even more importantly, it's important to do your research and treat media with respect - i.e. never pitch them with something irrelevant to their beat. It has reshaped how we live and work in ways that were unimaginable 30 years ago. Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, also seems to agree. This 30-year timeline celebrates the generation of innovators who continue to change the world and the great impact they have made.

His weekly columns are famous for presenting clear and concise information with the power to influence consumer’s attitudes towards the product or service. In his last column for the WSJ, he compiles a list of top products from his past two decades of reviews. Two main criteria were used for selecting the products. First, they had to improve ease of use and provide value to the consumer. Secondly, they influenced the products and services that followed or changed the way people lived and worked. Check out the list here: Some products foreshadowed some of today’s most cutting-edge technology. The Newton MessagePad was an early form of artificial intelligence while the Palm Pilot led to the creation of one of the first smartphones. Newer products, such as Facebook and Twitter transformed the Internet into a social medium. Mossberg also concludes that Apple has introduced more influential, breakthrough products for average consumers than any other company over the years of his column. You can learn more about the products on the list and Mossberg’s explanations for choosing them in his last column.
Although AllThingsD has come to an end, readers can still read Mossberg's valuable insight in Re/code, a new independent technology, review and analysis site where he is Co-CEO with Kara Swisher. In the increasingly competitive market for technology coverage, the 43 team is excited to see how Re/code aims to reimagine the future of tech journalism.
