This week we are launching Openbucks, the Gift Card Payment Network, where you can use gift cards from trusted retail brands, such as Subway, Circle K, CITGO, Hess and Sports Authority, as payment for online games and at commerce sites. Openbucks (Openbucks.com) is ideal for people who do not have a credit card or prefer not to use them when paying online, turning gift cards into a convenient online purchasing and payment method. With Openbucks-enabled gift cards you can complete a transaction in 5 seconds or less. After purchasing a gift card at one of more than 100k locations in the U.S. and Canada, you can use it at hundreds of online games and retailers. We've seen some great coverage so far from outlets including TechCrunch, The Next Web and the Financial Times and know this is just the beginning! The partnership between Poynt and the Missing Children’s Society of Canada got an unexpected first run last week when Kienan, a three-year-old B.C. child, went missing from his home. MCSC made the decision to send out it’s first alert through Poynt after Kienan’s disappearance. The alert was pushed to over 7,000 Poynt users in Alberta and B.C. and included details about Kienan and his suspected abductor. Kienan was anonymously returned home the Sunday following his disappearance. More coverage on this riveting story at The Globe and Mail, and Market Watch
