The holiday season is in full swing and at the 43 office we’ve found ourselves jubilantly chatting about all the tech gifts we plan to give, hope to receive or simply just intend to use over the next couple weeks. With almost everyone in our office mentioning a tablet at least once in terms of the holidays, it seems that 43 is on beat with the growing tablet trend. Whether it’s an iPad Mini on the wish list or an already-owned Nook being used for some fireside reading, tablets top the list… however there were a bounty of other tech items on our minds. Some employee highlights include: The ever-organized Ciera has a charging dock on her wish list. She hopes this will help keep her and her husbands various devices in a single orderly spot. Our founder Gary will be keeping an Recco Avalanche transceiver on hand at all times during his trip to Colorado, where he will be tearing up the bunny slopes. Sara, our Michigander with an accent, will be traveling home over the holiday. Known for getting to airports with hours to spare, she’ll be using her iPhone to listen to music, chat with friends and update her Facebook as she wanders the terminals. Sick and tired of having to share her iPad Evie (our awesome director) is giving her (awesome) husband a Google Chromebook. Jasmine, our resident artist, wants to take her photography a step further with the Impossible Project, a product that turns your iPhone photos into real Polaroid’s. Music man and 43 VP, Anders asked Santa to add to his mic collection with the AKG C-414. Not impressed with all of Anders practical jokes, Santa plans on giving Anders coal instead. Running nerd Blair plans on using the RunKeeper app as she hits the running trails. Mercilessly competitive at her core, runners beware as she will be secretly be racing anyone she spots in her way.

The 43 team has been working like crazy to help out the GDGT team with their annual San Francisco tech event and this past Thursday all our hard work paid off! The event, which took place at the METREON downtown, hosted 44 booth sponsors and attracted over 1,200 tech fans. The night started off with the 43 team checking in VIP attendees, but soon we joined the other tech enthusiasts and roamed the booths. We hung out with our client Juxta Labs who had a table to promote their app WordTag, a social word-guessing game that tests a players mind and ingenuity. While walking around the event we were able to play with a robot called Kubi, take x-rays of our smartphones at the Qualcomm Spark booth, snap a couple goofy pictures using LG phones and much more. Overall, we had an awesome time and can’t wait to do it all over again next year! WordTag launched for Android last week so make sure to join us in the fun! Download WordTag for Android here or for iOS here. WordTag is a challenging game app that tests users’ wits and creativity with a fun and social word-guessing game. Perfect for Twitter aficionados, WordTag prompts players to provide an opponent with clues for guessing a word using 120 characters or less. Players take turns describing and guessing words, gaining tokens and earning badges with correct answers. To learn more about WordTag visit www.WordTag.com. |
