Since being invented in 1854, elevators have not experienced any significant evolution, until now. A German tech company ThyssenKrupp is gearing up to reinvent this seemingly static technology. Its new MULTI elevators will be self-propelled by magnetic linear motor technology (same system used in maglev trains) allowing the elevator to travel both horizontally and vertically. The elevator will be able to accommodate wide or unusually shaped buildings, will no longer be limited by heights and will be able to operate in loops. MULTI will run on a system consisting of multiple cabins that will travel in a loop at about 11 mph, allowing passengers to catch a lift every 15 to 30 seconds. ThyssenKrupp’s CEO Andres Schierenbeck stated in a press release, “Per year, New York City office workers spend a cumulative amount of 16.6 years waiting for elevators, and 5.9 years in elevators.” As a result, one of the fundamental goals of inventing MULTI is to improve urban life. Another beneficial factor is the elevator will require less space than the traditional model, increasing a building’s available space by 25 percent. The company plans to have the first MULTI prototype running in a specially designed test tower at the end of 2016. Jawbone has introduced two new fitness activity trackers that appeal to anyone and everyone interested in tracking their health. One product is a new and improved version of the Up health-monitoring wristband, and the other is a new entry-level product that can be attached to clothing or worn on your wrist. The next-generation Up3 is sleek in design and significantly smaller than the previous Up24 model. This fashionable wristband is packed with advanced activity features, for instance the skin has integrated temperature sensors and bioimpedance sensors. In addition to the standard accelerometer, the bioimpedance sensors run microcurrents to measure the wearer’s heart rate, respiration, stress, and fatigue. The fashionable wristband comes in various colors and styles, has seven days’ worth of battery life, and it’s water-resistant up to 10 meters. The Up3 is scheduled to ship later this year for $179.99, and will only detect resting heart rate and sleep patterns, but more features will be added in over-the-air firmware updates. The Up Move, is a small round puck that comes with a clip or a strap, and is meant to go in your bag, pocket, or can be clipped onto your belt. It’s an entry-level fitness tracker that comes with all of Jawbone’s data processing, and an impressive system of activity and sleep tracking. It comes in a variety of colors, has a six-month battery life, and is splash proof. Up Move will be available on November 5th for $49.99. HAVE A HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!Once again, the FortyThree team brought their A-game to Halloween dress-up day. We'd like to wish everyone out there a safe and spooktacular night of tricks or treats, maybe even both!

Adaptxt by KeyPoint Technologies sets itself apart from competitors with the 90+ languages and specialized dictionaries offered. It is an award-winning, intuitive, multilingual keyboard that offers a customized input experience for users across iPhone, iPod and iPad devices. Adaptxt actually learns from the way you type to offer more relevant and accurate text predictions. Thought Swype was the only keyboard that allows you to type without lifting your thumb?
