Peel, the company set out to change the way you watch TV, announced earlier this week the release of its Second-Screen Engagement Platform in addition to its regular interactive TV guide. The new platform debuted alongside this weeks airing of American Idol whose ratings topped the charts for network television. Peel enthusiasts and American Idol fanatics can now rejoice as one via the new platform by cheering and booing with the audience, rating each of the performances, judging the judges, and even predicting the results. Each week, Peel will share these results illustrating how its community feels about who moves on and who gets voted off. Users will also be able to tap a button to easily access the iTunes music store and download their favorite performances from the show. To celebrate the new platform, Peel will be giving away an all expenses paid trip to Hollywood for four, including VIP passes to the Idols Live concert this summer. Each time a user invites friends to join them in the Peel experience, or completes a contestant card rating the performance and agreeing or disagreeing with the judges’ reactions, they will be automatically entered to win the grand prize.
