Evie Carter Evie has been with 43PR for over six years and is our Senior Director. Currently, she oversees many of our clients including Smith Micro, LitePoint, TheFind, Keypoint, WerYoo and Stern Pinball. In this interview, she offers valuable insight about the public relations industry and shares her favorite memories while working here. What do you like most about working at 43? So many things. I would have to say our president Gary has been a huge inspiration to me. He's believed in me from the get go and given me the tools and motivation to get to where I am. Our 43 family is just amazing. I wake up in the morning and am excited to come to work and see everyone. What is your proudest moment so far at 43? A couple years ago I was working on a launch/announcement for our client Peel. I booked a three day press tour in NYC and every meeting was with a great outlet and writer. On launch day just about every single outlet posted. It was the best feeling ever. What do you enjoy most about working in PR? I think one of my favorite things is the development of a strategy or message from the ground up. We plant the seed and watch it grow - from initial brainstorming to content development and eventually story placement. It is easy to take pride in your work when you have had your hands wrapped around it from the get go. What is one of the most valuable lessons you've learned from your experience in PR? Relationships are priceless. Whether it is with a journalist, client or coworker, the more people you have genuine relationships with the better. I was a bartender for a long time and knew the value of regulars back then. I did not realize the skill and talent for getting to know someone, being genuine with them and maintaining that relationship would follow me into my career. It's really been something I excel at and take pride in. Are you team iOS, Android, or other and why? Would you ever switch to something else? iOS for life. What amazes you most about technology? How fast it moves! I started working at 43 six years ago. I remember when the App Store launched and it's been amazing to watch it really change our lives. Remember maps? It blows my mind. What do you like to do when you are not in the office? I've been involved with roller derby for the past six years. It's been a life changing hobby, to say the least. If you were given a one week vacation next week where would you go and why? Paris! It's been a life long dream. I'm really hoping to make it there in 2014. I have this vision of traveling by myself and eating lots of food, seeing amazing art and maybe meeting some cool people. What's your favorite movie? One of my favorite movies is Anchorman - I actually have an Anchorman inspired tattoo :)
