Yesterday marked the first day of Mobile World Congress 2014, the world's largest conference for the mobile industry. Held in Barcelona, the four-day event brings together nearly the entire wireless industry of the world. Major companies release their most anticipated news and unveil their newest innovations that aim to transform the industry. Some of the top headlines from the first day of MWC 2014 include: - Samsung debuted their newest superphone, the Galaxy S5, along with a trio of new Gear wearables. - Nokia unveiled their first Android phone, the Nokia X. - Switzerland’s Geekphone revealed the privacy and security focused Blackphone, considered to be one of the most secure smartphones introduced. - Sony announced a new flagship device with the capability to capture 4K video, the Xperia Z2, and unveiled the waterproof Xperia Z2 Tablet. -Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg delivered the keynote speech to open the show.
